One of the delicious treats that’s usually reserved for sweater weather is mulled wine. The warm and spicy beverage is the perfect addition to any Christmas brunch and is super easy to make. Mulled wine is a traditional drink in Europe, finding its origin back to the Roman times. Over the years, it has become a crowd-favourite drink to be served during the holidays and can be made using several variations, depending on the wine and spices you choose.

Spiced Mulled Wine Cocktail by Anurag Godbole, Wine Sommelier and Bar Manager at Nksha Restaurant, Mumbai

Ingredients
- 1 (750 ml) bottle of dry red wine.
- 1/4 cup brandy (or orange liqueur)
- 1 orange, sliced into rounds (also peeled, if you would like a less-bitter drink)
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks.
- 2 star anise.
- 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste.
